Join Sudbury Forest School for a free forest school gathering with CNAC certified forest and nature school practitioner Jennifer Labelle. We will explore early spring in the North with our children amongst the trees with stories, songs, crafts and adventure! Registration is required.
Capacity: This session is limited to 15 total children. Once 15 children have registered we will close registration and begin a waitlist. Caregivers do not count towards the max capacity. Please let us know if you are unable to attend so we can offer your spot to someone on the wait list.
Date: Sunday, April 12th, 2025
Time: 1:30 - 3:00 PM
Ages: This session is primarily aimed at ages 3 - 9 but older and younger siblings are welcome to join in the fun! Parents must be in attendance for free Sudbury Forest School Gatherings.
Location: We will be meeting at Grandview Park off of Grandview Blvd. in New Sudbury. We will then head down the trail to the forest connecting trail to the New Sudbury Historical Trail.
Parking: There is street parking available on Village Crescent and Grandview Blvd near the park entrance.
Accessibility: Grandview Park is accessible for wheelchair access. Depending on the level of snow and mud in mid-April it may be a more difficult spot for those using mobility aids to access. Please indicate on this form if mobility access is a concern and we will navigate a solution together.
Inclusion Policy: All children are welcome at Sudbury Forest School Gatherings! If your child is neurodivergent, learns or communicates differently, or has support needs of any kind that may affect the ways in which they are able to participate, please indicate how we can support them on this form so we can ensure they have a positive experience in nature.
Facilitator information: This session is being led by Jennifer Labelle. Jennifer is a certified forest and nature school practitioner with lead designation in an independent setting. She has a current vulnerable sector check and First Aid and CPR certification. She is an experienced educator, hike leader, neurodivergent-affirming support worker and seasoned mom of two little boys.
Clothing: April can be a messy month! We recommend a warm layer of clothing underneath a waterproof suit, and rubber boots! Mittens and a hat can still be suitable in mid-April so make sure to bring extras. Be prepared to get a little bit dirty!
Inclement Weather Policy: Sudbury Forest School Gatherings operate in rain or shine. If the weather is icy, freezing rain, thunderstorms, or torrential downpours we delay the event to the following weekend.
Bathrooms: Please note there is no bathroom access at Grandview Park. Please ensure your child has used the bathroom prior to the session. There are bathrooms at nearby restaurants that can be used if need be, about a 5 minute drive away.
