Sudbury Nature Education and Wellness Initiative
About
Sudbury Nature Education and Wellness Initiative is a registered nonprofit organization based in Northern Ontario. We operate publicly as Sudbury Forest School, offering inclusive nature-based sessions and supports for children and families.
Our work is grounded in the belief that connection with nature should be accessible for all children, regardless of support needs or learning style. We are committed to reducing financial barriers to participation, and offer subsidized access to our sessions if required.
We offer:
Small-Group Nature Programs
Consistent, small-group outdoor sessions for school-aged children, focused on connection, regulation, and social-emotional development. Our sessions are STEAM-based and offer a hands-on learning environment in the natural world.
Individual & Family Nature Support
One-on-one or caregiver-supported sessions for children who benefit from individualized pacing, additional support, or alternative learning environments. These sessions can offer respite, regulation support, or an opportunity for safe play focused on the needs of the individual.
Workshops & Consultations
Training and guidance for educators, caregivers, and organizations seeking to better support inclusive, accessible play through nature-based pedagogy.
Collaborative Programming
Partnerships with schools, nonprofits, childcare centres, Indigenous groups, and community organizations to design and deliver accessible, inclusive outdoor programming.
